PSU Teams Compete at President’s Cup & State Championship

U13 Boys Red and U14 Boys Red, both coached by Brian Schmidt, will compete this weekend in State Presidents Cup at the SCORE complex in Racine. There are 90 teams this year in Presidents Cup making it the largest event in the 6 year history of the competition. U14 Boys Red are the defending state champions of Wisconsin Presidents Cup and have 9 teams participating at the U14 age level. U13 Boys Red have strong competition with 16 teams in their age level. Winners of the event advance to regionals in the Midwest Presidents Cup in West Chester, Ohio June 14th to 17th.

Presidents Cup Overview
The Wisconsin Presidents Cup is the first round en route to a National Title. Winners at the state level compete in the Regional Presidents Cup and Regional Winners move on to the National Presidents Cup. The Presidents Cup is a soccer tournament designed to provide teams that do not participate in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series, the US Youth Soccer National League or the Midwest Regional League the opportunity to participate in a series of events that lead to the National Presidents Cup Championship. Coach Rafa Dias’ U19 Boys Red qualified for the State Championships Memorial Day weekend.
The* Wisconsin State Championships* are the first round of the elite US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. Winners at the state level compete in Regional Championships and Regional Winners move on to compete for the National Title. Group play for the 2018 Spring State Championships will be held at Scheel’s USA Youth Complex in Appleton, Wisconsin May 26-28. Semi-Finals and Finals will be held June 2 & 3 respectively, at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee State Championship winners will advance to the Midwest Regional Championships to be held June 22-27 at Grand Park Sports Complex in Westfield, Indiana.
