News and Announcements
U12B Fire, coached by Kevin Grossklaus & Joel Robertson, welcomed the grade 5&6 team from Brookfield Academy. BA’s coach, John Franco, reached out to the club to invite the PSU team to a “friendly” (non-sanctioned scrimmage). PSU hosted at Armory and the BA team arrived on a bus and provided a seasoned ref who called a fair game. The teams were very well matched with the game ending in a draw at 2-2.

Observations from Coach Zach Papanikolaou:
First, thank you to the parents for being very supportive and encouraging to the kids to do well. Also, thank you to manager Scott Wagner for the tremendous help.
In recent weeks the team has faced some very challenging competition.
A few weeks ago at Sports Club, we had to face 2 out of 3 premier teams, which gave us a good lesson. Our progress and improvement after that showed big time, as we prepared for tournament play.
Our weekend at the North Shore tournament was absolutely fantastic. I’m so very proud of the team for playing in 90-degree temperatures – plus, 2 out of 4 teams we played were higher level teams, without a doubt.
After the first two games where we struggled, we faced an MK team to a 4-4 tie. Under different circumstances, had our finishing been better, we could’ve easily won by half a dozen goals or more.
Having said that we absolutely saved our best for last in the tournament. Against an outstanding MK WFB team, superbly coached by two coaches, our kids absolutely played the best game of the year so far. Winning the game, 4-3, with tremendous leadership by our captain Tyler, scoring 3 goals, 2 of which were in the final 7-8 minutes of the game.
What really makes me so happy and proud is the teams we faced have been coached by the same coaches for two years, and we have only been together for two months. So our progress and improvement have been absolutely unbelievable.
_Again, congratulations to the U12 boys’ Black team – we are looking forward to even better things! _
As we lose daylight moving into fall, the club board sought approval from Sussex & Lisbon to place mobile generators to light the playing fields. Our requests were successfully approved by both municipalities. In recent days, 2 units have been placed at Armory Park, and 2 units at Halquist Youth Complex.
In an effort to maximize training time for our players, while maintaining safe conditions, the club is excited to, for the first time, light up the night for evening training sessions!
For everyone’s safety, do not approach or touch the generators
Come support one of the club’s top girls team in action!
The U17G Red 01 girls, coached by Andy Paroubek, begin their road to State Cup play with their play-in game on Saturday, September 30. The team will face Geneva Lake United at Halquist Youth Complex at 8 am.
It would be nice to have some of our Academy and younger girls age group in the fan zone to start their understanding of state cup competition. If the team wins the play-in game, they will advance to group play beginning October 14.
